Within global uprisings, some individuals grab media attention, while countless voices supporting these movements are overlooked. These unknown heroes are the true essence of 'popular' uprisings.

Over a decade has passed since the 2011 protests in Yemen, marked by various events, including the ongoing war. Today, I reveal these images for the first time, capturing those who once filled 'Change Square' in Sanaa.

For me, the sight of ordinary protesters standing alone in front of security forces, which often met them with violence and bullets, was a profoundly disturbing scene. I still remember the early days when I first visited 'Change Square' and my shock at the sheer numbers that initially came out, and the remarkable diversity among those faces, unified only by shared dreams.

These photos are of random, unknown individuals, at least on a public or personal level, for me. Faces that were present on the ground but absent from the memory of events, even if their images were captured by camera lenses.

As I revisit these photos years later, I ponder: Where are they now? How has war and time shaped their lives? What untold stories lie hidden, waiting to be revealed?
